EMC and Safety Testing Lab for Power Electronics

Most electronic products shipped into Europe and North America must pass EMC and safety testing before they can be placed on the market or carry marks such as CE, CB, or UL. TPS operates its own EMC and safety laboratory focused on power electronics and industrial equipment, helping you run pre-compliance tests, debug failures, and walk into third-party labs with much higher confidence.

EMC Pre-Compliance and Debug Support

Step1: Define the test scope
Target markets, environment, and applicable standards such as EN 55032 and IEC/EN 61000-4-2/-4/-5/-6/-8/-11.
Step2: Set up your device under test (DUT)
Realistic loads, cabling, grounding, and shielding close to the final installation.
Step3: Run pre-compliance tests
Emission scans, immunity tests at representative levels, and capture of waveforms and failure modes.
Step4: Identify root causes
Find the critical port, frequency band, or test level, and whether layout, filtering, shielding or firmware is the main factor.
Step5: Propose and verify countermeasures
Suggest filters, layout changes, ferrites, shielding and surge protection, then re-test to confirm improvement.
EMC Pre-Compliance and Debug Support

TPS focuses on the emission and immunity tests most relevant to power supplies and industrial equipment.

Working with third-party labs

Our EMC and safety lab is used for development testing, debug, and pre-compliance.

Final CE, CB, UL or other approvals are issued by independent accredited laboratories.

Test data and recommendations from TPS can be shared directly with your chosen lab to reduce duplicated work and shorten project time.

What is EMC testing and when do I need it?

EMC testing verifies that your product does not create excessive electromagnetic interference and can withstand common disturbances from its environment. You typically need EMC testing whenever your product must comply with CE, FCC, UL or similar regulations before being sold or installed.

What is the difference between pre-compliance and full compliance testing?

Pre-compliance testing is done during development to find and fix EMC issues quickly in a flexible lab environment. Full compliance testing is the formal process at an accredited laboratory that produces official reports and certificates for CE, CB, UL and other approvals.

Which EMC standards can TPS help me with?

We support tests based on EN 55032, EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3 and the IEC / EN 61000-4 series including -4-2, -4-4, -4-5, -4-6, -4-8 and -4-11. During scoping, we will map your product to the relevant clauses.

What information do you need before scheduling a test?

A short product description and application, target markets, intended standards if known, input voltage and power level, and your desired test window. Existing EMC reports or failed results are also very helpful.

Can I attend the EMC tests on-site or join remotely?

Yes. We welcome on-site participation, and we can also arrange remote witness testing using video calls and shared measurement data.
